Explore the possibilities of cutting edge technology at the District Technology Center! Since it opened in August 1997, it has served as the driving force behind technology integration. This staff development facility has a wealth of technological hardware and state approved software. The center offers technology training, a trained and experienced TLT Team, and state of the art equipment.
Technology training has been a vital link that aids in embedded professional development for all staff and personnel. Teachers prepare to meet the challenges of technology as they engulf innovative ways to integrate technology into the classroom. Parents learn ways to assist their children with homework and test preparation.
A trained and experienced Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) Team delivers hands on lessons and activities geared to the curriculum. This team accommodates the technological needs of teachers, administrators, parents, students and members of the community. The team attends state hosted workshops and conferences throughout the year.
This state of the art center is equipped with 30 internet ready workstations and a laptop computer. A compressed video unit is available to connect to major universities that offer classes via digital link. Other equipment includes presentation station, document camera, GPS units, palm pilots, digital cameras, smart board, printers, a LCD projector and a 52 inch projection screen that enhances any presentation.
This technology center will continue to be one of diversity as we keep abreast and implement the changing trends in technology as a result of technology training, the TLT team and state of the art equipment. |
