Southside Elementary School

There is a national trend toward school uniforms; therefore, Southside Elementary School initiated uniforms during the 1998-99 school session.  A survey was conducted and parents overwhelmingly approved uniforms. The uniform colors are light blue and navy.  Students have a choice of a variety of uniform styles.  All students are expected to wear uniforms everyday unless otherwise notified, by the principal. The entire faculty and staff voluntarily wear the uniform colors, which encourages the students to wear their uniforms.

The initiation of the school uniform has improved classroom behavior, created greater school pride, and provided a positive image of the school, in the community.
