Mission Statement
The mission of the Northside Elementary School parallels the mission of
the East Carroll Parish Public Schools which is to ensure that all
students acquire knowledge and develop skills and work habits to enable
them to become productive members of society. This mission is best
accomplished when all adult stakeholders in the school and the community
work together using collaboration, consensus, and a no-fault approach to
problem solving to improve the academic and social climate for all
students.
Philosophy
The faculty of Northside Elementary School believes that the school
exists primarily to serve the children of the community. The school should
have knowledge of the community it serves and adapt itself to the
distinctive characteristics and needs of the people as related to the
state, nation and world. We believe that each child should be provided
with the opportunity to develop to the fullest.
Each individual is given the opportunity to express his special
talents, interests, and creative ability. We attempt, in addition, to
foster in each child an aesthetic appreciation of the world in which he
lives.
The faculty accepts the belief that the curriculum should be flexible
enough to satisfy the needs of students of various mental and physical
abilities. It should offer experiences rich and meaningful with functional
activities whose goals are to produce students who think accurately and
analytically.
We further agree that the most important condition of instruction is to
have a healthy and vigorous learning environment. When there is mutual
respect among teachers, students and administrators, when there is general
high regard for learning for its own sake, and when the educational
interests of all students are kept foremost then we may be confident that
we should have good conditions for learning and teaching. |
